WWI and Propaganda

America has joined the fray, you should too
I would like my poster to have an effect of both patriotism as well as duty to one’s country. I achieve this by using the propaganda technic of, “Bandwagon.” “Bandwagon,” helps me achieve this by implying that everyone is fighting the central powers so should you. I also use, “Flag Waving,” to achieve this goal with the British flag in the background of the text. Now than it might now be as prominent as the other technics I use but, “Direct Order,” is also being used when I say, “you should too.”
This poster fits in the historical era by using a specific font type as well as the language that I am using in the poster. I also have achieved this by using a historically accurate picture of the British flag. Other than those two obvious reasons there are also the slight aging effects on the picture to make it feel as though it is from the era.
I would have to say that propaganda is quite prevalent in the world today, it does more than shape how we think, and it also shapes how we act. It does this in a quite similar way as socialization in how different propaganda will affect people differently. I would also have to add that how people are socialized effects how people perceive propaganda and one piece of propaganda might affect one different than it might affect another.
Project Reflection
I did not show my greatest Propaganda skills in this project nor did I exhibit the Photoshopping skills necessary either. I will honestly say that I am horrified at the outcome of this project, I am sadly glad that there was no exhibition for this. But perhaps if the exhibition had been promised, then a better project may have emerged unfortunately this is not the case and I can only look back and dream of what could have been.
